INTRODUCTION TO PROJECT
2019 CAPSTONE LEARNING OPPORTUNITY
This year you will be creating a Weebly website to document your I.D.U. experience in both English and Social Studies class. So why are we doing this? Why not! Why not...try something new! Why not...develop your Web 2.0 skills! Why not.. document an experience in your life that allows you to dive into the material! Why not...explore something of interest! Why not...take a crazy chance! I know, I know you have no idea what you're doing. But that's okay, because we have the internet. I am assuming no one has created a Weebly website before so we are all learning together. There are plenty of sources where you can find useful information: Each other, Youtube, Weebly blog, and an Internet Search "How to make a Weebly website"
For example..."OMG, I don't know how to add a page onto my Weebly website!" Well, you have FOUR options, ask a friend, ask youtube, search the Weebly blog, or search the internet. Here is what I came up with the simple search of "adding a page on to Weebly website" on all FOUR options: On your mark, get set, go:
-Each other...well no one was around, so I couldn't ask any of you.
-Youtube
-Weebly Blog
-Internet Search
Stop! Look at that! 5 minutes and 42 seconds later I found three answers to my one question.
Other things I had to search for in creating this example website: inserting a chart into Weebly, deleting a page from Weebly, making a blog page for Weebly and inserting an image in between text. I promise you, it is ALL out there! In the end, there is a lot to learn with this Web 2.0 tool, but I know you can find the answers to it. Use your brain, use your friend's brain, use the internet brain. We are all in this together... so use the tools that you have been taught how to use.
This Weebly website will act as a growing portfolio over the next quarter. Your Social Studies grade will be based on the assignments marked as "Social Studies" and your English grade will be based on the assignments marked as "English". For example...
